Program Description
A Home Visitor Associate (HVA) is an individual who wants to advance their career in home visitation or adult/child development programs. A HVA promotes quality education and support to youth, parents, and the community by supporting guidelines and standards designated by the Commission for Professional Certifications and Credentials.
HVA Eligibility Requirements
Candidates for the Home VIsitor Associate (HVA) credential must meet or exceed the following eligibility requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have 1 year experience (no fewer than 480 hours) working with youth within the past 3 years
- Have 120 clock hours of formal education/training within the past 3 years
- Hold a valid First Aid card
- Hold a valid Infant/Child/Adult CPR card
- Be a member of a professional organization
